Copper

Copper is a great electrical conductor, so it is used in all kinds of wires. It is a great heat conductor, so it may be used to transfer heat (aluminum is good too, and lighter). Copper is used in the statue of liberty because it is malleable and rust resistant. (See also Bronze)
