Space Suits (Apollo)

If you think about it, many parts of the Apollo mission uncovered completely new realms of science and engineering. For example, no human had ever walked anywhere other than Earth. Yet NASA had to design space suits for the moon from nothing. The Apollo space suits had to handle the vacuum of space, intense solar radiation, wild temperature swings, lunar dust and much more, and the first actual test happened when Neil and Buzz stepped onto the moon.
